asos.com

Like most college students, I enjoy a good party. Most weekends before going out I wind up doing that cliche thing that happens in the movie Clueless, pulling everything I own out of my closet in the quest to find what to wear.

My friend and fellow VS intern Lizzy showed me this great website called asos.com that has some of the cutest clothes. They're a little bit like a trendier slightly more expensive Forever 21, but they have great clothes to wear to go out. I ordered a black all lace dress and a top from there that I absolutely love. They're based in the UK so sizing is a little tricky but their convenient charts point you in the right direction.

Design Students Fashion Show

Just got back from a fashion show for some IU fashion design students final presentations. The lovely Kelsey Finn from College Fashionista joined me for the evenings events, which were held at an abandoned warehouse in the middle of nowhere. It was an interesting backdrop for the show, half of which was inspired by old barns and the other by straight jackets.

Photographer Bruce Carver took some great pictures of the show.

Favorites of Fashion Week

This past weeks New York Fashion Week was a much needed treat after the harsh winter we've had. The shows were fierce and the even the seats under the tents at Bryant park were a subject of controversy.

Herve Leger was one of my favorite shows of the week. That bandage dress still has me hooked.

Where have I been?

It's been too long since my last post. Pretty much no excuses, other then school kicking my butt. I guess having the word collegiate in my name makes this self explanatory.

Since I've been buried under a pile of stats papers and public relations text books, a lot has happened in the fashion world.

We lost an Icon, fashion week prevailed, and the project runway contestants continued to drive us crazy.

I promise to be more up on posts. So sorry.A.M.-We will all miss you. Rest in Peace.

Elephant Pendant

I’m currently in the middle of playing the mind game called “do I need this, or do I want this?” The current object of my obsession is a white elephant pendant at a nearby boutique. I’ve fallen in love with it, and let’s face it, there’s no stopping a girl in love.

Animal jewelry is not just a recent love. My grandmother owned the most amazing serpent bangle with emerald eyes. There’s something about it that’s a little bit magical.

Jane from Sea of Shoes recently did a post about animal accessories, and her fox belt was kick ass.

I'll be doing some more hunting for animal pieces around town, but most likely I'll cave and go for the elephant pendant.

Happy Hunting!
